This is the last of Betty Davis’s three original albums, released in 1975, and the last of the three that I’ve just acquired. Again . . . this is revelatory funk. Why has this not been championed and played through the years? No, it didn’t chart very high, and neither did the single that came from it. But that could be said of any number of songs by artists that have maintained a presence through the decades. Sorta like Fanny – phenomenal talent that should not have been left behind. If you have even the slightest interest in funk: this is THE stuff.
