Eddie Cochran – On The Air

This record came out in 1987. As I said earlier, my favorite of the eight sides in the Eddie Cochran 20th Anniversary Album box set was the last side — as Discogs puts it, “Recordings and interview snips from the British television programme ‘Boy Meets Girls,’ from January and February 1960,” with host Marty Wilde. I played that side so much that, unfortunately, it has some noticeable wear. (On a college student budget, my turntable was barely adequate, and my styluses rarely replaced.) So I was pleased to find this album sometime in the late ’80s — apparently I found it in some store’s cut-out bin — that has exactly the same material as that final side, plus an entire extra side filled with American radio interviews from 1957, interspersed with studio recordings. I can’t say that I’ve played it very much, but I’m glad to have it.
