Badfinger — Straight Up

Less than two months after I found “Magic Christian Music,” another nice Badfinger record turned up in the Forever Changes bins: 1971’s “Straight Up.” This is a classic, with “Day After Day” and “Baby Blue.” Many think it’s their best album, and many also think it’s the best power pop album ever. Well, yes, it’s pretty damn good.

How did I never have this before?

Badfinger Straight Up front cover – that is some serious 1971 action right there. Bold to not name the group or the album on the front cover; I’d guess there was a sticker on the cellophane

Badfinger Straight Up back cover – production credits for Todd Rundgren and George Harrison, and engineering by Geoff Emerick. Hard to go wrong.
