Faces – The BBC Session Recordings

Listen, one good Faces live album deserves another. Even though this includes four of the exact same performances as were on Had Me A Real Good Time, there’s enough beyond that to make up for it. These were recorded at various times in 1970 and 1971, early on in their relatively short run. These tracks aren’t as raucous as some of the live bootlegs I’ve heard, but it’s the BBC, so they weren’t going to be. They are, nevertheless excellent. And once again, I found myself waiting in line on Record Store Day for this.

So, yeah – more live Faces recordings. What’s not to love? Do I have enough Faces? I do not.

Supposedly, this is everything the BBC has of Faces. But I won’t complain if someone does a quality release of the “Big Easy” concert from New Orleans.

(I’ll note there are a lot of complaints about the quality of this and the previous pressing on Discogs – but my copies don’t suffer from any problems with skipping).
