Hot Tuna — Burgers
I wrote not too long ago about about how very, very late I was to the Hot Tuna scene. But in a very short time, I’ve really made up for it. Since last November, I’ve picked up five Hot Tuna records, all of them good, all of them getting plenty of play.
This was their third album, from 1972, which I just picked up in March during a run to Shady Dog Records in Berwyn. This is beautiful driving sorta electrofolk, including the violin of Papa John Creach, and the signature “Water Song,” a stunning Jorma Kaukonen instrumental. This and the other Hot Tuna records haven’t been out of my rotation since I got them.
